Oolong Tea
Oolong tea is said to be 1/2 fermented. In reality, some is fermented as little as 30% and others as much as 70%. Fermentation at so many levels produces many, many different and unique tastes. The lesser fermented Oolong’s are closer to the freshness of a green tea. The more heavily fermented are closer to a black tea flavor, and thus provide a smoothness usually found in black teas. As such, I find Oolong is the hardest to describe and judge. They are each so different across the flavor spectrum. The Oolong’s currently in stock are closer to the green side. Come fall, we will concentrate on expanding our selections of Oolong tea to include the medium and more heavily fermented varieties.
